Let’s not forget the men in our lives…………….
I am blessed to be able to share with you this encouraging guest post which is focused on faith and marriage – by Abbey Phipps!
Abbey seeks to encourage women in their homemaking journey and glorify God by telling us how he works in her life. She loves photography and adventure!
“For the Word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword …” (Hebrews 4:12) God still speaks through His Word. The Bible teaches us that God loves us, tells stories of heroes of the faith, and gives us all that we need to live a life that glorifies Him. But sometimes, the world gets in the way and we become discouraged. As wives, when we see this happening to our husbands, we have the responsibility to step in, fight for him, and bring encouragement. I want to share with you 15 verses to encourage your husband. Read these verses to your husband, study them together, and pray them over him. Speaking these truths is the most powerful thing we can do as wives.
I love my husband, and I think he’s the greatest. He works hard for our family, providing for us and leading us closer to Christ. But sometimes, he has a bad day at work, or he’s exhausted, or things just aren’t going his way and he becomes discouraged. As his wife, I am called to be his encourager. I can encourage him with words from my heart, but even more powerfully, I can encourage him with Scripture from God’s heart. That’s when I see his heart uplifted the most. The following verses are ones of hope and encouragement. When your husband has a rough day or just needs a pick-me-up, share these with him and pray them over him. Fill his mind with the Word of God and his heart will follow.
“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you.” – Deuteronomy 31:6
“If God is for us,who can be against us? He who did not spare His own Son, but gave Him up for us all—how will He not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?” – Romans 8:31-32
“And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith.” – Hebrews 12:1-2
“If you say, ‘The Lord is my refuge,’ and you make the Most High your dwelling, no harm will overtake you, no disaster will come near your tent. For He will command His angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways; they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone. You will tread on the lion and the cobra; you will trample the great lion and the serpent.” – Psalm 91:9-13
“A man’s heart plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps.” – Proverbs 16:9
“We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed.” – 2 Corinthians 4:8-9
“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.” – Romans 8:28
“Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.” – 2 Corinthians 4:16-18
“For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.” – Ephesians 2:10
“And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, ‘Look! God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and He will dwell with them. They will be His people, and God Himself will be with them and be their God.’” – Revelation 21:3
“Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.” – Romans 5:3-5
“Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for He who promised is faithful.” – Hebrews 10:23
“Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.” – James 1:2-4
“For He Himself is our peace.” – Ephesians 2:14
“No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” – Romans 8:37-39
