Flourishing-families.com     Praise the Lord!

Psalm 100
Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth.
Worship the Lord with gladness;
come before him with joyful songs.
Know that the Lord is God.
It is he who made us, and we are his;
we are his people, the sheep of his pasture. Enter his gates with thanksgiving
and his courts with praise;
give thanks to him and praise his name.
For the Lord is good and his love endures forever;
his faithfulness continues through all generations.

Heavenly Father, we come together in prayer to draw close to you, thank you, praise you, glorify you and ask for your forgiveness. Help us to feel your presence. Pour your love into us and fill us with the fruits of the Holy Spirit. Allow us to connect with you, and hear your wonderful words of wisdom and power. We pray that we can walk with your strength and be closer to you than ever. When we speak of thanks for the sacrifice you made for us, forgive us, because our words seem so little in comparison to the incomprehensible suffering that began at trial and continued to the cross. Thank you for your unconditional and everlasting love. Thank you for leading us in our path towards righteousness. Please forgive us for failing in this path, because we can not always resist temptation, and we so often selfishly chose to listen to ourselves instead of you. Thank you for being such a merciful God. Thank you for your understanding and compassion. Thank you for keeping your promises. Thank you for never leaving our side, and forgive us for verbalising that you do. Thank you for allowing us to worship you so freely, when our fellow brothers and sisters are being slandered for the slightest word of you from their mouths. Thank you for giving us the chance to have such easy access to your word, when there so many that do not yet have the opportunities we have. We pray for those going through these unspeakable situations of terror, and torture and are hidden from your word, we pray that you will use us in your will to transform these situations.

Father, we are so small in this world, and when we begin to look outside our little box the reality of it becomes incomprehensible. Time and time again we fail you, and yet you still provide us with your blessings! You chose US to be your disciples, you chose US to spread your glory, and continue to teach us, you chose US! What a privilege!
Father, each of us have been through many trials already, are going through trials now, and will continue to have trials in the future, we pray that you will please take our hand and show us all we need to get through each day. We pray now for joy, and peace in our lives, and know that when we keep looking to you, you will provide it in abundance! Give us the self-control we need to keep drawing near to you father in our vulnerabilities. Forgive us for drowning in our sorrow, when we are blessed with so much. We know that in everything you do, you do it for good and in love. Keep our heads lifted and our eyes wide opened and alert to distractions, and remind us that we do not need to fear anything but you. With you by our side, with your words, we will have your strength. Thank you Lord. Help us to see, ‘the goodness and godness of God’ through all the trials. Do not let the lion devour us, help us to ensure that we come to you in prayer in every situation in our lives before we let the enemy bring us down in a spiralling whirlwind of negativity that fogs our ability to hear you. Father we know that we need to be opened up to trials, temptations and doubts so that we can grow closer to you and build our relationship with you.

We also come together to pray for the church, church leaders, family, friends, world leaders, and fellow brother and sisters all over the world. Bring us comfort, peace, patience and perseverance, and show us how we can use your wisdom in our lives.
Father, show us how we can love one another in the way that you love us, let this love shine so brightly. Soften hearts, plant seeds and give us courage to be the disciples that you are leading us to be. We pray that as a family we can be open, honest and real with each other. Give us opportunities to support one another. Father, continue to build us, mould us like clay. Keep our eyes fixed solely on you, praising you, glorifying you and honouring you.

We live to do everything for your glory. As Paul writes, ‘our sufficiency is not in ourselves, but in God’. We thank you father for even considering us to come closer to you and thank you for your unfailing love. We praise you father, and glorify you for a life that we could never have had if it wasn’t for you, we have been set free, praise the Lord that we are a new creation. Lord you are our wonderful, awesome God, that forgives us time and time again. You comfort us during times of despair, you show us a love that does not match any other, you transform our lives.

We Praise you, we glorify you, we love you Father in Heaven, we thank you for your word, your guidance, your way, your perfect timing in every situation throughout our lives, and the freedom we have been blessed with through Jesus Christ. Amen.
